I got the idea from a Jason Scott Campbell drawing in ToyFare.

I started by making a proportions illustration in PhotoShop. The illustration is to scale about 6 inched tall. By making it to scale I can better determine know how long or wide all parts should be. This also helps me determine which figure I will use as the base.
I first chose Wolverine but he was not bulky enough. Then I remembered the Sentinel I made for ToyFare and decided to use Sabertooth instead. Sabertooth is very bulky and round, he was the perfect choice.
Using my proportions illustration I started altering Sabertooth. I shorted his thighs and his forearms. I used Wolverine's forearms because I like the way the moved.

Using my trusty B&D rotary tool (Dremel) I shaved the figure down. I removed all the areas I didn't need and slimmed down the figure in certain areas.

Now that i had the figure ready I began adding Sculpey to the areas i had shaved down. I added more muscles to his shoulders, I fixed his wrists and his thighs. I also began sculpting his feet.
Finished his feet and started working on his hands.
Hands finished.
Now I sand the entire figure using some 320 grit sand paper. This helps all my added areas blend better with the figure.
Started working on the head
Now on to the shell. I used the first TMNT movie for the reference on the shell. I made the shell out of Sculpey Flex so it could be more durable.
Finished the head and the shell and assembled the figure. I began painting the figure.
I started with a base green coat. Then I gave the figure a dark green wash and finished with light green highlights. The finishing touched were all his spots on his cheeks, shoulders and legs. I decided to paint his mask red, like they originally were in the original comic book.

I made his elbow and knee pads, belt and other accessories from Sculpey Flex. I would add them later when the figure is painted.
